Lisa graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at the University of Minnesota-Waseca in March of 1982. She has been working at MVAH since it opened in July 1988 and is also our Hospital Manager. She lives in Shoreview with her cats named Desmond, Amaretto, and Fireball. In her free time, she likes baking, reading, going to Twins games, and spending time with her family.
Tessa graduated from Globe University with an AAS Degree in Veterinary Technology in September 2016. Then became a certified vet tech in April 2017. She started at MVAH in October 2019. She is an advocate of pet adoption from rescues and shelters which is where she adopted her two cats named: Sassafrass & Naughty Cat. Tessa believes that pets are extensions of your family and enjoys client education and discussing animal behavior, In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, keeping up with current events, and spending time outdoors.
Josh graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Ridgewater College in Willmar in May 2003. Josh did his internship at MVAH and has been working here since September 2003. He currently lives in Blaine with his wife Crystal and their 2 cats Cleo Clementine & Lylah Mittens. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, going to Minnesota Twins games, and traveling.
Christine graduated from Argosy College in October 2005. She has been with MVAH since March 2004. She started out as a part-time veterinary/kennel assistant and now is a full-time veterinary technician. She currently resides in Coon Rapids with her husband Wyatt and two children. She has three cats named Nigel, Jason, & Pip. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, reading, and spending time with her family.
Anne graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota in June 1991. She has been with MVAH since September 2001 and is also our Boarding Manager. Anne has two cats and two dogs, a Rough Collie Mix named Miller and Pugsley. Anne likes to go to the movies, cross-stitch, outdoor trail hiking, and biking. She lives in Coon Rapids with her husband Scott.
Julie graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at the Medical Institute of Minnesota in June of 1995. She has been with MVAH since July 2002. She lives in Crystal with her husband Matt and their children Jacob, Matelyn, and Jameson. She has four cats named Stella, Purrise, Tater, & Harvey. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and watching her children’s sporting events.
Keith graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 2011. He did his internship at MVAH and started full-time in February 2012. Keith lives in Cambridge with his wife Amanda, their son Hendrix and animals (dogs – Belle, Quinn, Wesley, Ollie, & Clyde) (cats: Bonsai, Dobby, Dodge, Minnie, Sally, & Tugboat), 3 goats named Elvis, Petunia, and Baby Carlos, a mule, many chickens and a Macaw named Clipper. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, & hunting.
Carrie graduated from Argosy University in 2009 and has worked in clinics and shelters since then. She and her boyfriend, Tim, and son James Robert, daughter Lydia & currently live in North Branch with their cat named Handsome and dog named Wade. She has a soft spot for the ‘underdog’. For fun, Carrie likes to go to concerts, watch football (proud Packer fan), play video games, and binge-watch shows on Netflix. Her kids keep her quite busy and entertained.
Liz graduated from Argosy University in 2011 and has been working as a CVT in the small animal clinic since. She has been with MVAH since February 2018. She lives in Crystal with her shelties Miley and Cupid, and cat Izabelle. In her spare time, she enjoys training and competing with her dogs in agility, obedience, and rally.
Nikki graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in December 2007. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2005. She started with MVAH in April 2019. She enjoys nutrition, wound care treatment, and client education. She resides in Brooklyn Park with her husband Mic and daughter along with their two dogs: Rev & Fin and two cats: Coral & Crush. In her spare time, she is either doing Crossfit, Snowboarding, scuba diving or watching Netflix & cooking.
Ashley graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 2011. She has had over 9 years of experience in shelter medicine with the Animal Humane Society. She is passionate about cats and is quick to comment on unique pigmentations on the noses and toes of the variety of cats that visit the clinic. Ashley is also an avid reader and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. She has two dogs & two cats at home.
Loving and caring for an animal takes courage and dedication. It can be a challenge to understand what our furry companion is trying to tell us. That’s where Mic and the team at MVAH join in! Mic became a CVT in 2007 and started working at MVAH in 2020, thanks to his wife who also works here! Mic has always been mesmerized by animals and nature so, taking the path to care and nurture those in need, in a medical setting, just felt natural. He really enjoys client education, working in the lab, and assisting with surgery. When he’s not working, he enjoys going on adventures outside. Chasing sunsets and sunrises with his camera or going for a hike with his wife Nikki and their daughter and two dogs (Fin and Riv). At the end of the day, chillin’ on the couch with his two cats (Crush and Coral) is a perfect way to relax, whether it’s reading a book or watching a show.
Layla joined MVAH in 2022. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is assisting injured animals and helping them become healthy again. She appreciates being an advocate for animals that can not verbalize what they may be feeling. She graduated in 2020 with an Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN. She loves hanging out with her own pets, reading books, photography, visiting Duluth with her husband, Joe, and daughter Torvi. She has a Lab named Bella, a Chorkie named Gizmo. Also has two cats are also a part of the crew and their names are Mera and Mowgli. Spending time with family and friends.
Ann joined MVAH in 2022. She chose to work in veterinary medicine because she enjoys working with animals and their people. She graduated from Colby Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Nursing in 2021. She enjoys walks, hiking, sewing, reading and movies. She has three cats Bobby, Charli, and Leah as well as a rescue dog named Bear.
Bethany started working at MVAH in May of 2003 as a kennel assistant and is now serving as a veterinary assistant and assistant boarding manager. She lives in Blaine with her Old English Bulldogge, Gloria. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, fishing, hunting, lifting weights, knitting, and spending time with family and friends.
Angela started working at MVAH in July 2017. She attended Duluth Business University for Veterinary Technology but was unable to finish due to the school closing. Prior to working here, she was at the Animal Allies Humane Society in Duluth, Minnesota. Angela grew up loving and caring for many types of animals. She currently resides in East Bethel with her boyfriend Chris. Angela loves German Shepherds and will make sure she greets any German Shepherd that comes into the clinic. In her free time, she enjoys taking her dog for walks and spending time up at the cabin.
Jeff started assisting in Mounds View Animal Hospital in March of 2021. He is very drawn to small dogs and is extremely enthusiastic about chihuahuas. He enjoys taking care of reptiles and his fish tanks. In his free time he enjoys sewing, reading, and dominating in Settlers of Catan.

McKenzie is planning on finishing her BA in Animal Science and becoming a certified veterinary technician. She joined the MVAH team in 2023 and is loving being part of the team. McKenzie has 2 crazy but loving cats, Raptor (16 years old) and Suki (2 years old).
Michelle is currently a student at the University of Northwestern-St Paul studying Biochemistry. She hopes to attend veterinary school after she finishes her undergraduate degree. She enjoys meeting all the animals at the clinic but especially loves all the kittens and puppies. She has a dog named Maximus and a cat named Ginger. In her free time, she likes to crochet or watch reality tv with her friends.
Brennan started with the clinic in 2022 to help with the reception team. He helps us field a variety of requests and calls and will help you schedule appointments. He loves working with animals and animal lovers and graduated from Western Illinois University. He enjoys having brunch with friends, Zoom calls with family, and spending time with his pets. He has a Pyrenees/Golden Mix name Rayla who likes short walks, long cuddles, and lots of attention. He has 2 cats named Poe & Gemini. Also has many tarantulas.
Kara joined Mounds View Animal Hospital in March of 2022. She’s always had a passion for animals and later landed here at her dream job doing what she loves. You can find Kara at the front desk assisting clients in scheduling their appointments, booking grooming/boarding reservations, submitting medication refills for your pets, and guiding people in the right direction even on those tough days. Kara enjoys building personable relationships with clients, her co-workers, and of course every furry face that enters the clinic. In her spare time, you can find her at home with her husband and her dogs Luna, Nova, Bean, and her ball python Sal. Some of her hobbies include reading, writing, swimming, talking basketball with her nephews, light home improvements/painting, interior design, comedy, and learning new things in the veterinary field. There is always something new to be learned and a good conversation to be had.
Ann graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Journalism and a M.E.D. in Adult Education. She works full-time at the University of Minnesota. She has been working as a kennel assistant at MVAH since June 2002. She lives in Shoreview with her husband Jon and their son Henry. She also has a dog named Frank and 2 cats Joey Batman & Ivan. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading, hiking, and decorating her home.
Kelly graduated with her AAS from Anoka-Ramsey Community College in 2012. She started at MVAH as a kennel assistant in October 2013. She resides in Lakeville with her three dogs: Jameson, Tango & Paisley. In her spare time, she likes to watch and play sports, spend time with family and friends, and spend time enjoying the outdoors.
Kristina graduated from Northwestern College, the University of Minnesota, and Saint Kate’s with degrees in kinesiology and Physical Therapist Assistant. She works full-time for Park Nicollet in the retina department. She has been working as a kennel assistant at MVAH since 2021. She recently adopted a one-year-old kitty named Pandora. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside, running, biking, and kayaking.
I have been working in the dog/cat Boarding/Daycare profession for 10 years. I started with MVAH in January 2024. I grew up with lots of dogs and cats. Currently, I have a Siberian Husky named Osiris, a pug named Odie, and two littermate cats named Wild Rice and Spaghetti Noodle. In my spare time, I spend time with our daughter and pets.
